Volta Trio - 2010 ICMEC Special Mention Award Winner

The Volta Trio is a percussion ensemble based in Rochester, NY. Since coming together at the Eastman School of Music in 2007, The Volta Trio has been performing new and exciting music from a variety of cultures for audiences throughout the Northeast, including recent performances at Onondaga Community College and the 2010 New York City PAS Weekend of Percussion. After a successful performance of Russell Peck's percussion trio concerto, "The Glory and the Grandeur" with the SUNY Fredonia Wind Ensemble in 2009, The Volta Trio is scheduled to perform the piece with the Eastman Wind Ensemble in 2011.
Through their passionate, high-energy performances and clinics, The Volta Trio strives to educate, inspire, and entertain their audiences. The Volta Trio is also a strong advocate of new music. They are currently working on commissions with Michael Burritt, Baljinder Sekhon and Andrew S. Allen in an attempt to broaden and enrich the percussion trio repertoire.
